Natural Depression Treatments
- Routine – Get into a routine, this will help to keep the structure in your life.
- Goals – Set daily attainable goals that can be accomplished.
- Exercise – Regularly to help boost feel-good chemicals called endorphins. Regular exercise helps to encourage the brain to rewire itself in positive ways.
- Eat healthy – Having control of your eating will help you feel better. Evidence shows that foods with omega-3 fatty acids (such as salmon and tuna) along with folic acid (such as spinach and avocado) give back good nutrients that may help ease depression.
- Sleep – Go to bed and get up at the same time every day. Try not to nap. Take all distractions out of your bedroom, no computer, or TV. Too little sleep can make depression worse.
- Responsibilities – Stay involved and have daily responsibilities that help you maintain a lifestyle that can help counter your depression. This will help to ground you and give a sense of accomplishment.
- Challenge Negative Thoughts – A lot of the work is mental, change how you think. Try using logic as a natural depression treatment, don’t let negative thoughts get out of control.

- Try to Have Fun – Make time for things you enjoy. Plan things you used to enjoy like movies, dinner with friends, etc.
